Machines: Lost Episodes - Ep 16. Missing the War!
30.05.01 - TheOrange |
|
|
Twice in one month? Who would
have though it? Well, get used
to it, because we're going to strain
mightily to get the entire second
season done before BotCon... which
only gives us six weeks to do
it. How many episodes are
left? Oh yeah... ten...
Well, at any rate, enjoy what we
DO get done...
Episode 16 - Missing The War.

Don't say we didn't warn
you. Okay, so we *didn't* warn
you...

Help
the "Hammocks for Foldit" Fund!
29.05.01 - TheOrange |
|
|
"I love modern style wooden
furnature
and hope to buy a hamic one
day" - Foldit
This sounds like a really cheap
scam, but the offer is indeed quite
genuine. A person known only
by the name of Foldit really wants a
hammock. Because we are a
loving and caring community, we want
to give him one. The only
catch is that a really nice hammock
costs round $240 before taxes and
shipping, so we all need to pull
together and get Foldit that which
he desires so badly! It won't
take much. Twenty-four people
donating $10 a piece could do
it. It's not hard,
really. You have one of two
options for helping out:
- Write a check for the donation
amount made out to "Mike
Miksch," and mail to:
Hammocks for Foldit Fund
1000 El Embarcadero Apt. E
Isla Vista, CA 93117
- Send money to TheOrange's
PayPal account! Just send
money from your own PayPal
account to theorange@tfboogaloo.com,
and make sure you put
"Hammocks for Foldit"
in the subject line (I am not
technically part of Mike's Fund,
just a guy who plans on donating
$10 himself but figures that if
he collects smaller donations
from others, that he would be
more than happy to accept
them. Mike is likewise not
affiliated in any way with TF
BOoG@LoO!).
If Mike can't make the amount,
he'll refund everyone who sent him
checks. If anyone contributes
to my PayPal account, and Mike can't
take the money, you will likewise be
reimbursed.
For more info, go to The
AllSpark General
Discussion Forum, or directly to
the thread.
[ADDED: 05.07.01]
Well, it looks like Foldit
doesn't want a "hamic" any
more, so there dies another grand
idea. Thanks for everyone who
participated... all ONE of you...

Help
Lou Scheimer Bring Back He-Man!
29.05.01 - TheOrange |
|
|
Lou Scheimer, the producer of the
original He-Man and the Masters of
the Universe television show that
began airing in the early eighties,
is trying to get the ball rolling on
an all-new He-Man cartoon, but he
need your help! He has already
contacted all creative staff
(including the original voice
actors!) and hopes to begin
production as soon as he gets
permission from the last holdout --
Mattel. Therein lies the
trouble, my friends. Lou needs
you to write a letter stating your
desire to see this project work, so
that when he meets with Mattel to
pitch his idea, he will be able to
plop down a stack of these letters
in front of Mattel executives, secretaries,
and custodians alike, and be able t
say "look; do you see how much
interest this show will have if we
bring it back?"
Unfortunately, Lou's deadline is
only a couple of weeks away, and he
hasn't garnered enough support
yet. He won't be able to walk
in to a meeting with Mattel with
only 100 letters. He needs you
to write in. He needs
it. NOW.
The letter should conform to the
following:
- Should be no longer than a
page
- Send to:
Lou Scheimer Productions
20300 Ventura Bl. Suite 330
Woodland Hills, CA 91364
That's it. I'm sure anyone
and their Buddha Monkey could do
this. I'm sending mine
in. How about you?
For more information, visit the
official Lou
Scheimer Productions
website. Also check out
fansites He-Man.org
and CastleGraySkull.org.
If that's not enough, (or even if it
is), take a gander at TOTEMCon
(Toons Of The Eighties & More
Convention), which is coming to a
location near you! Or at least
New England... Hey, it has a
cool Flash intro, alright?

Beast
Machines: Lost
Episodes - REDEMPTION Finally Posted!
22.05.01 - TheOrange |
|
|
Some said that this day would never
come. They said that no one
can procrastinate for this
long. They said that the Lost
Episodes were dead, and would never,
ever come back. They also said
that the writers died in a horrible,
terrible, alien attack.
Well, *they* were wrong.
They were very wrong indeed.
Episode 15 - REDEMPTION is
finally here, and it's only been six
months (plus) in the making.
See what you've been missing and say
to yourself "that shouldn't
have taken anyone six months"
and watch as I nod in agreeement
with you! However, the time
for pointing fingers is over.
Read REDEMPTION here,
only at http://www.trhonline.com/bmle
Look for Episode 16 - Seeds of
the Past some time within the next
week or so.

Douglas
Adams Dies at 49

Dead dead dead.
[edited 16.05.01]
Yeah, apparently he was working
out at a gym with a friend and had a
heart attack. Just keeled
over.
The world has lost a genius, an
author, and an adamant
detractor. He shall be missed.
A list of things he's never going
to get to finish:
- The sixth installment of the
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
series - Yeah, he said he wasn't
going to do it, but I hear it
was about 2/3 done at last
report. I guess he was
right after all...
- The third book in the Dirk
Gently series - I have to admit
to never having read a Dirk
Gently book. Now I'm sorry
that I haven't.
- Hitchhiker's Guide to the
Galaxy theatrical feature - Yep,
after twenty years, Adams
finally got all the creative
control he could ever hope for
by way of Disney. Now the
TV show Trillian can be known as
"the annoying English chick
that no one likes," but I
suppose that will always remain
a dream as well.
This is doubly eerie, because I
had to help give a presentation in
English 393 (Sci-Fi -- Future Tense)
on the life and works of Douglas
Adams just last Monday.
Instead I had to tell everyone he
was dead. If my video capture
card stars behaving, I'll put up a
copy of the tribute video we made to
play at the end of the presentation.
